Here’s a note straight from Craig to tell you about it…
“While many know me for my Western art, my love for vintage vehicles has been with me since the beginning. Long before I turned to Western themes, as a NY illustrator I was painting cars, boats, and motorcycles — still some of my favorite subjects. There’s something timeless about their design; the craftsmen behind them were artists in their own right, creating beauty you could ride.
Of course, you can’t ride a painting—but I hope mine capture the spirit and soul of these machines. Along with my western art, they fill the walls of my studio and continue to inspire me daily.
Boats are another passion of mine. Known in the Western art field for how I paint water, I find that same expressive energy flows into my maritime pieces. Whether it’s a still harbor or a shining chrome fender, light and reflection play a big role in my work.
Lately, I’ve spent time in museums, photographing displays—motorcycles behind glass, dramatic lighting, shimmering reflections. These details often find their way into my compositions, echoing the same techniques I use in my water scenes.
And then there are the trains — more museum time for another subject I enjoy painting.
For the first time, we’re making a selection of these never-before-seen works available to the public. It’s been a joy to create them, and I hope you enjoy viewing them just as much — whether in your home, office, at shows or through our website.
By the way… my western art is not going anywhere. I still spend the majority of my time in that arena. It’s been my passion for thirty years, and I’m not about to let it go!”
